From Seville:
Train or bus to Plasencia → local transport or shared ride to Cabrero
From Badajoz:
Train or bus to Plasencia → local transport or shared ride to Cabrero
Once in Plasencia, let us know your arrival time, since we might be able to pick you up.
Also, you can take a taxi or a bus, and we will help coordinate shared rides depending on arrivals.
How to get here by car
You can reach Plasencia via motorway (A-5 or A-66 depending on your starting point).
Once in Plasencia, follow the signs towards the Jerte Valley (N-110) and continue until you reach the exit to Cabrero / Casas del Castañar.
Once you arrive in Cabrero, head towards:
Paseo del Canchal 27, on the main road through the village. We’ll be waiting for you there.
You can stop in front of the house to unload your luggage. Afterwards, park in the designated areas nearby.
Food & shared meals
Breakfast and lunch are flexible and self-managed. Dinners are shared experiences — homemade meals, cooked and enjoyed together.
There will be a notice board where you can sign up to cook dinner or help in the kitchen, in a flexible and informal way.
You’ll also find a shared shopping list in case you need anything extra, although the kitchen will already be stocked with all the essentials upon your arrival.
Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th dinners will be prepared by us. If anyone feels like joining or contributing, you’re very welcome to do so.
Work & daily rhythm
This is a remote-work space, and the daily rhythm will remain flexible and adaptable to the group.
There is also a separate coworking space just below the house, available for anyone who needs a quieter environment or wants to maintain a more focused, uninterrupted work routine.
Mornings will generally be quiet, aligning with the working hours of most people — a time for focused work and a calm atmosphere in the house. If you’re not working, you might enjoy walks in the surrounding area. Claudia will also be some mornings doing some light DIY work in the garage, just one minute from the house — anyone is welcome to join and help.
In the afternoons, we’ll open space for workshops and shared activities, as many of you have offered to host something. There’s no fixed schedule — you’re free to choose the time that feels right for you and the group.
Friday 1st May
On Friday, May 1st, we’ll have a small, more “official” opening, with friends, neighbours, and people we’ve met along the journey of creating this project — and of course you.
For this event, we are collaborating with the Extremadura Coworking Network. We would also love to include some of your contributions, sharing your experience as digital nomads — what this way of living and working brings to you, and how your stay in La Toza and the village has been.
Programme of the day:
11:30h. Arrival of participants
11:45h. Welcome and visit to the space
12:10h. Talk: the potential of coworking/coliving in transforming rural territories
12:35h. Your experience as digital nomad
13:00h. Catering networking session
14:00h. End of the session
*For this day, we will also set up a quiet space for anyone who needs to work or join meetings, so that the event can coexist comfortably with your personal routines.
That same night, at 10pm, we are planning to host a intimate Plena Moon gathering — a simple, open cultural moment inspired by full moon nights, when the village turns off its ornamental lighting, creating a very special atmosphere.
If anyone feels like sharing something — music, words, dance, stories, or anything else — this is an open space for participation. Everyone is welcome to contribute in their own way.
Weather and Packing
Spring in Extremadura is one of the best times of the year — mild temperatures, green landscapes and lots of sun.
Useful things to pack:
- Comfortable clothes for working and relaxing
- Light jacket or sweater (cool evenings)
- Good walking shoes
- Swimsuit (in case you visit natural pool or ravine)
- Umbrella or raincoat (it’s Spring, it might rain too)
- Laptop & work essentials
Rooms & house amenities
All rooms are private, offering a comfortable space to rest and recharge. Some rooms include a private bathroom, while others share bathroom facilities.
The house is fully equipped for both living and working. There is direct wired internet connection available throughout all spaces, including the bedrooms, for a stable and reliable connection.
The village & local rhythm
Cabrero is a small village in the Jerte Valley, surrounded by mountains, cherry trees, and natural pools. Life here moves at a different pace — quiet, simple, and closely connected to the land and the seasons.
Depending on the time of year, the village follows its own natural rhythms. In Spring, especially during cherry season, much of daily life revolves around the harvest. The cherry trees are an important part of the local economy and culture, and many people in the village spend their days working in the fields.
During this time, life follows a calm rural rhythm, with small bursts of activity— tractors passing through, families working together.
Some of the services in the village include a small local shop, a paddle court (we have some rackets available), an ATM, a gym, a health center less than 1 km away. It is a small village, but with all the basic needs covered.
