BE PART OF THE VILLAGE
You will be in Cabrero, a 350-inhabitants village, one of the smallest and quietest in Valle del Jerte.
COLIVING AT LA TOZA
La Toza is a small house in Cabrero where a few people come to live for a while.
You have your own room, and the places where you work, cook, eat, talk and spend timeb are shared. You keep your own routine, and you are no longer doing everything alone.
There are shared dinners, conversations that last longer than expected, workshops, forest bathing and occasional things happening around the house. And then there is the village itself: the café, the gym, local events, festivities, the people you start recognising in the street.
La Toza is small on purpose. There are only a few rooms, so the house never becomes a place full of strangers coming and going.
MORE THAN THE PEOPLE IN THE HOUSE
The community doesn’t stop at La Toza’s front door.
The coworking is also used by people who live in Cabrero and nearby, and this has created a growing network of people around the project. You might meet someone from the village at the coworking, have a coffee together, join a local event or end up at one of the village festivities.
You live in the house, but you are also living in Cabrero.
The gym, the cafés, local events, celebrations and everyday encounters become part of your stay naturally. You don’t have to “join the community”. You simply have to be there.
A SLOWER TIME TO SPEND YOUR TIME
One of the things people notice when they arrive is that there is less noise.
Not necessarily silence — there is always something happening — but less urgency.
There is time to walk after work. To sit outside. To cook. To talk. To do nothing for a while.
Forest bathing
Forest bathing, or shinrin-yoku, is not simply going for a hike. It means spending time in the forest slowly and consciously, paying attention to what you see, hear, smell and feel rather than trying to reach a particular destination.
This is one of the activities we like to include at La Toza.
THINGS TO DO AROUND
There is plenty to do around La Toza. You can walk through the surrounding countryside, go hiking, swim in natural pools, explore the gorges or simply take a book and find somewhere to sit.
Depending on the season, there are also the cherry harvest and the different landscapes of the valley, the autumn colours and the programme of the Otoñada, and places for looking at the night sky.
And sometimes the best plan is simply to stay in Cabrero.
WHO IS LA TOZA FOR?
For independent people who enjoy having their own space but also like sharing everyday life with others.
For someone working remotely who wants a change of surroundings. For someone developing a creative or personal project. For someone who would like to spend a few weeks somewhere quieter without disconnecting completely from people.
You don’t need to know anyone before coming.
But La Toza may not be for you if you are looking for a packed programme of activities, organised entertainment or someone constantly organising your stay.
The weeks here are mostly quiet. That’s the point.
